Born in 1989 in Lleida, Marta González De La Vega graduates in Film, TV and Radio by Universidad de Navarra in 2011, through the Becas Alumni academic excellence grant program. During her university years she focuses on scriptwriting as an internal student from the Culture and Communication Department.

In 2010, Marta has her first professional experience in cinema with director Ramon Térmens and his feature-length film “Catalunya Über Alles”, where she works as an assistant director and casting. Since then, she develops her skills as an art director and costume designer for different cinema, theatre, fashion and TV projects. It’s in 2016 when she finally decides to write, direct and produce her first short film: “Mai”.

After its premiere in the 23rd Mostra de Cinema Llatinoamericà de Catalunya in April 2017, “Mai” gets worldwide recognition by juries and audiences, winning 15 awards and more than 180 selections in international film festivals. It is screened in more than 30 countries in less than 12 months, as well as nominated for Best Script, Best Direction, Best Emerging Actress, Best National and International Short Film and Best Independent Production. That same year, Marta González De La Vega is awarded Young Talent at the annual XVI Certamen de Jóvenes Creadores by Madrid City Council.

Due to the success of “Mai”, González De La Vega produces two more short films: “Neu”, which is now in post-production, and "The Valdomeros", a period drama in pre-production awarded by the Greek Film Center at the 42nd Short Film Festival en Drama (Greece) and selected for the 3rd Acció Curts by Dones Visuals at L’Alternativa, Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona (Spain).
