Asturias (North of Spain), 1941. While getting ready to celebrate All Hallows Eve, two girls receive the visit of a man who claims to have worked for the most important family in town: the Valdomeros. As midnight approaches, the children will finally discover the real identity of their unexpected guest.
“The Valdomeros” takes place during the 'Night of the Dead' a very special event in Asturian culture. It is the only night of the year in which the gates of hell are open, so that the living and the dead can cross paths. Ancestral traditions must be consequently observed.
A TRUE STORY
“The Valdomeros” has been inspired by the real family who changed the history of Lastres: the Victoreros. Six brothers, a fortune made in Mexico and a miserable village are the setting in which “The Valdomeros” takes place.
“The Valdomeros” focuses on the terrible consequences of the Civil War on the seafaring village of Lastres. Still in pre-production, the project has been awarded by the Greek Film Center at the Pitching Lab of the 42nd Drama Short Film Festival and selected by the 3rd Acció Curts, by Dones Visuals and L’Alternativa, Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona.
